a dreamer's solace...

distractions and a lack of effort

Habits are probably the thing I struggle with the most. Keeping up with them, juggling multiple, and whatever else. Maybe it's the part of me that I'm suspicious might be undiagnosed ADHD (that's a different can of worms for a different kind of bird rn) but I pick up one thing, get distracted by another, and just end up leaving a bunch of different things unfinished. Sometimes it's finally getting a good routine in but then just half-assing it (or worse, dropping it completely) because I found a new thing to be distracted by with a kind of tunnel vision that leaves me time blind.

Basically, I have a problem and I don't feel like I'm equipped to deal with it in my current state.

I think part of it is the lack of urgency. I can do important things if there's a deadline involved and a clear consequence if I don't get it done. That's external pressure keeping me in check. But something like... I don't know. Reminding myself to move or get up or workout is just difficult. That's all me doing that and clearly I'm not all that helpful to myself.

What sparked this rambling thought is the fact I've been slacking. I get too focused on one habit and the other just fades into the background. Hygiene when I'm not expected to see anybody else? Super difficult to remember. Going out on a daily walk so I can get my steps up? Even more difficult.

Maybe there should be some kind of punishment waiting for me at the other end, but I'm already too paranoid and anxious as a person as is. Issues, man. I hate it.
